The Opportunity:

Barminco is in an exciting phase of growth and transformation and this is driving our current recruitment of experienced Underground Service Crew Trainer to join our WA Operations. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this position will work a 9/5 DS Only FIFO roster, out of Perth, WA.

You will be required to carry out the installation, removal and maintenance repair of underground mine services. You will also be required to train, coach and mentor crew members in the Service Crew position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Service Crew workers through their day to day operations;

Provide a high level of experience and knowledge in training less skilled staff;

Extend ventilation services to areas where needed, which includes hanging ventilation bags and moving/installing secondary fans;

Extend water, air and pump services to areas where needed;

Move and install pumps to areas where needed;

Maintain and repair services and equipment such as vent bags, poly pipe and valves;

Hand installation and grouting of cable bolts;

Installation of underground infrastructure;

Construction of ventilation walls;

Installation of remote operated equipment infrastructure;

Assist other U/G departments as required

Minimum Requirements:

Current & Valid Australian Drivers Licence;

Rights to Work in Australia;

Solid history of reliability and good work ethic;

5+ years' experience in underground mining;

Experience in underground service crew/paste crew work;

Experience in a Leading Hand 

Trade Qualification for Special Projects work;

A proactive attitude toward safety and hazard identification.
