Woodlawn Mine based in Tarago are seeking an underground Radio Communication Technician to join the team to support the mine’s communication infrastructure, you will be required to install, maintain, program and fault find a variety of wired and wireless communication systems ensuring industry standards are being met.

Role Requirements

Installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, fault finding and repairing communication systems;

Installing and commissioning communications equipment; and

Configure and program communications devices.

About You

Communication or Electronics Trade qualifications

Must have 8 years' experience in mining in a communications role

Previous Leaky Feeder Communication Systems experience

Knowledge of Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Antenna Theory, Coaxial, Cat5, Fibre Terminating and Repairs

Previous use of Windows based and Windows Embedded PC's

Proficient in Analogue/Digital Video converters/servers

Previous use of cable termination tooling

Current Open Cable License

Previous Soldering Skills

Understand Microwave based radio and antennae systems PTP, PTMP etc.

Knowledge and experience with RF spectrum usage and management tools

Thorough understanding/experience of IP based networks

Accurate and detailed record keeping.

This position will be on a 5/2, 4/3 roster you will need to reside in either Goulburn, Canberra or willing to relocate to these areas.
