We are looking for a Field Project Coordinator to plan, manage, and oversee the delivery of operational and logistical support services across multiple projects so that all support resources, facilities, and services are provided for safe and effective field operations (e.g. drills, remote camps, site preparation).

This role requires the ability to travel to remote project locations within Western Australia.  The role is full-time, split evenly between field locations and office based work in our Belmont office.

What the role entails

This role is a great opportunity for someone with proven generalist field experience to play a vital role within the project team.  The Field Project Coordinator must enjoy being part of the exploration team, have a passion for project management and the coordination of logistics and operational requirements.  Working and reporting to the Regional Superintendent, you will:

Have oversight and management of remote camps, including resourcing and construction, day to day operations and closure;

Work with Project Managers and Exploration Managers to understand and plan project requirements and advise on project operational support.

Assist in the provision of training and induction processes for Logistic Support staff ensuring understanding and commitment to comply with Rio Tinto HSEC standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements;

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

Current C Class driving license

Experience establishing and managing remote camps with a strong working knowledge of the particular requirements and challenges of operating in isolated and/or remote, field based environments

Ability to assess project needs, coordinate logistics and operational support tasks and prioritise work to achieve project outcomes

Excellent problem solving skills to develop and apply creative approaches to a range of operational problems (eg. logistical, equipment, staff management, health and safety, environment, and community)

The aptitude to work in field and office environments – both for extended periods of time

Well-developed leadership skills to supervise and manage staff undertaking varied tasks

Strong communication and representational skills

It will also be beneficial if you have:

Diploma in Project Management

Current licenses - HR, Forklift/ Telescopic Material Handler, and High Risk Work
