Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, the role of Drill and Blast Engineer will assist with planning, optimisation and monitoring of Drill and Blast activities. This involves producing drill & blast designs for the Technical Services Team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:
Strategic planning and optimisation of Drill and Blast activities
Stope reconciliation for improvement in drill and blast
Monthly audits of Drill and Blast infrastructure.
Projects and continuous improvement
End of the month calculation and provide drill and blast data as required to other departments.
Monitor powder factors, bulk explosives and consumables usage against budget
Desired Skills and Experience
Up to 10 years mine engineering experience preferably in an underground hard rock mining environment
Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
Experience in contributing to mining and continuous improvement projects
Experience with i-kon TM II blasting systems, Deswick software would be highly regarded
