Location: Site based at Carrapateena

Roster: 8 days on 6 days off; travel 100% on company time from Adelaide or Port Augusta

Reporting to: Senior Engineer – Ventilation

The key responsibilities of this role include:

The Engineer – Ventilation has overarching accountability for ventilation planning, supporting UG infrastructure design, as well as surface and underground ventilation monitoring to meet statutory requirements.

Agile ventilation planning from strategic planning to short term planning and implementation support.

Project ventilation design and planning to support Underground Infrastructure construction for primary and secondary ventilation requirements.

Assist in the developing, reviewing and maintaining of any risk-based hygiene management plan. As well as identifying the atmospheric contaminants present in workplaces and how they can be controlled.

Conduct, record and report any atmospheric contaminant sampling requested by an inspector.

Provide ventilation models and recommendations for the effective staging and progressive changes to the ventilation system of the mine, as the development and production expands.

Proactive inputs into the Management Operating System (MOS), the Integrated Planning & Scheduling System.

Underground and surface ventilation monitoring, equipment maintenance and systems to meet safe working conditions and statutory requirements.

Applicant Requirements

This role requires self-motivated, hands on and values based individual with a desire to deliver best practice outcomes with skills, experience, and personal attributes including:

Accredited training, certification and experience as an underground Mine Ventilation Officer.

Experience in the establishment of ventilation infrastructure for underground mines, both primary and secondary ventilation.

Advanced skills in VentSim software.

Demonstrated project management experience.

Exposure to SLC or Block Cave mining methods (desirable).

Membership in the Mine Ventilation Society of Australia (desirable).
