About the Role

WesTrac are currently seeking a qualified NDT Technician to be based in our Component Rebuild Centre at Tomago, to service and repair Caterpillar machinery.

This position offers flexible roster arrangements to be considered to increase coverage during busy periods and also ensuring weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful applicant you will be required to perform repairs, maintenance and inspections on a range of customer machines, including the following;

Crack testing on Drive Train Components

Working on gears/housings

You will apply your high level of technical skill and expertise to carry out these duties in a customer focused manner.  You will have a strong drive, motivation and direction to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment.

Skills & Experience

Essential criteria:

Proven experience in a similar role

NDT level 1 qualification

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements

Excellent diagnostic and repair skills

Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment

Desirable criteria: 

Familiar with Caterpillar Equipment

Level 2 NDT (willingness to complete additional training)

U/T (ultra-sonic qualification)

Forklift licence

Dogging ticket


Competitive base hourly rate

Add 7.5% location allowance

Add 15% shift allowance depending on roster
