Job Description

An opportunity has now become available for an experienced Environment, Health, Safety and Training (EHS&T) Advisor to join our team in Western Australia. This is a FIFO field based role that works closely with our Drilling Field Supervisors and crews to achieve zero-harm in the workplace through implementation of our EHS&T management systems and programs. In addition, you will be working on various sites in the Goldfields region of WA, so your successful relationship with our customers is crucial in delivering a strong EHS&T culture in the field. Point of hire for this role is Perth.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

EHS

Provide professional advice and hands-on support to field operations to ensure that EHS systems, processes, tools and risk-based programs are effectively implemented.

Provide professional advice and hands-on support to ensure that field operations prevent environmental harm through meeting environmental protection standards.

Implement ideas and initiatives stemming from Thought Leaders sessions on Safety to drive continual improvement and local safety accountability on your site.

Conduct investigations into EHS related breaches and provide reports and recommendations.

Ensure Critical Risk Incidents for your site are fully completed in a timely manner.

Manage and conduct workplace inspections and conduct compliance audits.

Ensure Scorecard activities are up to date and regularly closed on your site.

Monitor and maintain compliance with all internal EHS&T systems and platforms.

Training

Implement training and competency requirements for Drillers, Driller Assistants and other field staff that prepares them for safe and successful completion of work tasks.

Perform on-site observations frequently to assess training effectiveness.

What you will bring to the business:

A strong commitment to health and safety

A formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (Certificate IV – Essential; Diploma level or higher – Desirable)

A Certificate IV Workplace Assessment and Training qualification (Highly Desirable)

A personable and professional approach with people at all ranges of an organisation

Accurate and effective communication skills

A strong ability to organise and manage competing demands and priorities

An ability to work with sensitive information and uphold confidentiality

Confidence in putting solutions forward in response to identified problems

Empathy and a people focus
