This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced project management professional. You may be a Mining Engineer or IT Professional with experience in the mining industry. In this role, you will use your strong operational and technical experience to facilitate change and improvement in our resource industry. You will deliver major mine planning software implementations and consulting projects across a broad range of commodities and operations.
Working with our Sales, Software Development and Consulting teams from concept to execution.
Liaising with customers and project managing throughout the full project cycle
Ensuring thorough assessment of project requirements and managing project risks
Facilitating change management within customers’ teams
Developing project execution plans and providing quality assurance
Ensuring the alignment of expectations for Deswik and the customer – no surprises!
Contributing to the ongoing improvement of Deswik’s global project management framework and processes

What you need to succeed:
Engineering degree, specialising in Mining or IT (or similar)
7+ years of operational engineering experience, coupled with several years of project management experience
Proven experience in successfully scoping, proposing, delivering and supporting implementation of new technology and software
An understanding of software development processes and cycles
Experience in project management of mining consulting studies
Strong understanding of mine business planning, from short-term operational planning to strategic planning to mine closure
Hands-on operational mine planning and/or feasibility study experience in multiple mining methods and commodities (an advantage)
Formal qualifications in Project Management or Project Controls (an advantage)
