About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the purpose of the role is to provide leadership and direction of the electrical trades. With a strong focus on providing a high level of operational support in a zero-harm safety culture

Other accountabilities include:

Provide leadership and direction to electrical trades and where required undertake performance/behaviour investigations and deliver required actions in a timely manner, ensuring engagement with relevant parties and correct data storage

Lead/participate in safety investigations where necessary and implement required actions in a timely manner, ensuring engagement with relevant parties and correct data storage

Ensure all electrical maintenance team members are trained and developed to enable them to perform the scope of work required of them in a safe, efficient, and effective manner

Plan and prioritize the safe execution of work activities on a daily and weekly basis according to business needs in collaboration with other PKCT planning, operations, maintenance and engineering functions

Respond to and provide quick response to support after hours, for equipment breakdowns and interruptions to operations

Supervise the performance of assigned contractors on site to ensure that performance meets expectations and contractual requirements and conforms to the Contract Management Procedure

Provide coverage to Shift Supervisors which may include working a variable roster of 12-hour day and night shifts across weekdays and weekends (as required)

This position will be based at the Port Kembla Coal Terminal operations which is in the the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.

About you

Electrical Trade Certificate or Tertiary qualifications

Cert IV Leadership (Frontline Management) and/or Cert IV Training and Assessment

MSIC (or ability to obtain)

Experience in maintenance of conveying systems, automation, and high voltage

Demonstrated ability developing, coaching and mentoring employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity and organisational capability
