The Group Manager – Technology & Innovation provides direction and leadership towards the achievement of strategic management of the Company’s mobile assets, maintenance & supply, together with identification and adoption of innovative technology to achieve the business’ strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: 

Establish, prioritise and deliver the technology and innovation transformation program to achieve strategic objectives; 

Apply disciplined commercial thinking to business cases and capital allocation to ensure optimal returns for the business. 

Enhance technology utilization to create a competitive advantage for the business

Drive governance and continuous improvement around traditional IT functions relating to IT architecture & planning;

Ensure reliable, secure and effective technology services to enable greater productivity and efficiency of the technology function

Continue to maintain, manage and improve the routine business operations

Review and interrogate performance data to monitor, measure and report on information technology across the business

Apply continued roll out of technology and automation, to meet client expectations, as an ‘enabler’ of value-adding services delivery that;

Represent well-engineered technology and transformational technology solutions 

Are readily implementable and commercially responsible

Create a competitive advantage within the mining services market

Establish and maintain strong networks of external technology providers to stay ahead of technology development trends and proactively seek out technology solutions for the business to ensure Macmahon is well positioned to adopt new technologies.

Inspire a culture of proactive accountability, delivery and transparency across the business technology function

To be successful in this role it is paramount that you possess:

A forward thinking, proactive attitude with ability to formulate strategies around technology and its application to the resources industry.

Strong technical knowledge, 10 + years industry experience  

Management experience of 4+ years 

Well-developed network within the technology industry 

Proven experience with the implementation of new technology 

Demonstrated critical thinking, planning and management skills at a strategic level

Mining and resources experience will be preferable 

You will have a demonstrated ability to engage clients and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes, along with well-developed leadership skills. 

Strong strategic and analytical skills with a strong technical knowledge 

Financial and commercial acumen – demonstrated effective budgeting skills and investment analysis.
