About the Opportunity
Alcoa’s Kwinana Refinery are in search of Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at our Residue operation. The working roster for this role is 10.3 hour shift.
As an Alcoa supervisor you will play a large part in the success of work execution and people engagement. This front-line leadership role is responsible for coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential, developing and upholding very high standards in safety, maintenance practices whilst guiding diverse teams to achieve its goals in all areas of the business.
You will act as a help chain to the team, with your ability to problem solve maintenance and team issues. You will be responsible for implementing and sustaining business system improvements, assisting team members implement suggestion scheme ideas and the auditing of standardised work practices. You will enjoy meeting challenges and working with a diverse group to develop and implement strategies across our workgroups.
Core activities for this role are:
Achieving planned maintenance targets for residue
Maximising the availability of the residue filtration and materials handling systems
Subject matter expert for mechanical and electrical equipment within the filtration facility
The effective coordination of appropriate support resources to enable the work groups to achieve short-term and long-term business plans
Implement and achieve sustained improvements in problem solving through your leadership
Improve the overall effectiveness of the work group by improving their capability, accountability and applied effort

A strong maintenance background is essential and it is advantageous if applicants have experience working in an alumina/refining processing plant or mining/industrial environment. An Electrical/Instrumentation trade background qualification will also be highly regarded.

Kwinana Alumina Refinery is located 40 kilometres south of Perth in the Kwinana Industrial Area. It is a major employer in the area with approximately 870 employees. An estimated 48 per cent of employees live in the neighbouring communities of Kwinana, Cockburn and Rockingham.
