Role Details

Reporting to the Coordinator: Occupational Health & Safety, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the operation of OHS systems and standards, in support of Gold Field’s objectives and targets.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:

Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times;

Complete OHS activities via the compliance schedule to ensure compliance with OHS Management Systems Standards;

Complete internal OHS audits and participate in OHS internal/external audits;

Assist with health & hygiene monitoring and management;

Engender stakeholder confidence and protect business interests by maintaining a high degree of confidentiality in communications and ensuring sensitive information is kept secure;

Influence stakeholders by building productive and constructive interpersonal relationships both internally and externally to facilitate the timely accomplishment of goals;

Deliver site general inductions as required;

Monitor action recording and close out from incidents, investigations, audits, planned inspections, safety meetings and conduct action verification to the required standard;

Keep abreast of any legislative changes;

Participate in the Risk Management Process, conduct investigations as required and monitor incident reporting;

Participate in the review and update of safety related documents;

Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours, actions and attitudes in line with the Gold Field’s Vision, Values and Code of Ethics.  Actively promote Gold Field’s policies, procedures and systems relating to your area of responsibility.

Key factors to your success include:

Minimum Diploma level qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or closely related field

Certificate IV Training and Assessing

Ideally qualifications as a Noise Officer &/or Surface Ventilation Technician

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Investigation and risk facilitation experience

Demonstrated understanding & application of relevant legislation
