Redpath Mongolia LLC has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Controller to join their dynamic team at the world class Oyu Tolgoi Underground Project in Mongolia. The site is situated in Southern Mongolia in the heart of the Gobi Desert flatlands.

Location: Oyu Tolgoi Mine Site, Mongolia

Rotation: 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off

Shift Length: 12 hours

Compensation: Redpath offers a comprehensive wage and benefit package

Travel: Flights provided from point of hire to job site

Job Description

The primary role of the Lead Project Controller is to perform as the rotational cross-shift for the Senior Project Controller. This will involve the assignment of work to ensure that the Project Controls team provides management with all the project's deliverables. This includes daily reporting, management of departmental responsibilities, personnel management, contract letter preparation and presentation, administration of Client meetings, budget creation and monitoring against actuals and general quantity surveying duties.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Contract management/administration (invoices, change orders, notices, etc.)

Project Controls (cost and schedule, including interfacing with Human Resources (pay rates) and cost controls to provide guidance on cost management)

Essential estimating of additions or changes to scope

Document management and upkeep of risk registers

Overall site administration (Expat and National management of rotations, travel, etc.)

Training of National staff in the principles of commercial and project controls management

Skills & Experience

University degree (business or engineering) in quantity surveying, cost estimating or mining. Additional qualifications and/or certification(s) in quantity surveying (professional QS), project management (PMP), contract administration and key performance indicator measurement will be considered an asset

8+ years cost control and project administration experience in the mining sector or a similar industry

Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to facilitate team commitment

Good conceptual skills in understanding relationships between projects, the overall organization and its environment, and how change in one part of the project affects the whole

Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office, scheduling Software (MS Projects or Primavera) and measurement and estimating software.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
