HSE Mining is seeking to appoint a number of Senior Mining Engineers for various sites.
Reporting to the Site Project Manager, your key focus will be to provide technical and production engineering support for your nominated site.
The roles are Brisbane based with weekly travel for a minimum of 3 days per week in line with the requirements of the site’s short-term planning calendar. The remaining 2 days per week will be based in the Brisbane office supporting your respective site or providing engineering support to the wider HSE business as directed by the General Manager Technical Services
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Supporting site in:
Review and execution of SRF’s
Development and execution of weekly mine plans including:
Weekly pit tour with HSE site superintendents to formulate mine path
Liaison with the client to incorporate latest information
Development of weekly designs, mine plans and schedules with a 4-week rolling look ahead
Fleet optimisation of the agreed weekly plan (1 week look ahead) – in consideration of upcoming planned maintenance
Timely preparation and submission of Monthly Contract Valuation reports
Technical support including mine planning reviews, productivity studies, time in motion studies, etc.
Implementation and maintenance of site support systems (eg. FMS, Titan, Production Recorder)
Standardization of site technical services processes
Production Engineering support including:
Validation of site data capture into HSE and client systems
Performance analysis and reporting (monthly, weekly and short interval) to measure and manage conformance to plan
Management and execution of contractual technical matters including monthly claim
We are looking for a self-starter, someone who will provide continuous improvement and can assist development and implementation of standardized HSE processes, systems and outputs.
To be successful you will have:
Proven experience as a Senior Mining Engineer, preferably in Open Cut Coal Mining operations
Previous experience in:
planning and scheduling
operations and contract management
operational experience on large mining equipment
Current open drivers’ licence
Tertiary qualifications in an associated discipline
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and tight time frames
Experience in a range of mining software packages
Competent in a full range of Microsoft programs
Experience in project management
Knowledge of Truck and Excavator operations, Coal Mining, Drill and Blast, Dispatch systems and Contract administration
