Overview

We are currently seeking a Communications Advisor to join our External Affairs and Social Performance team based in Telfer during an exciting period of transformation. Reporting to the External Affairs and Social Performance Manager, you will work closely with the Senior Advisor Communications and Culture on site to deliver internal communications, and build awareness and compliance to new protocols with the aim of ensuring consistent and timely frontline employee engagement

The key responsibilities include:

Assist in implementing the Telfer Communications Strategy including development of standardised templates; refinement of daily condensed email communication tool; setup of a site-wide physical and electronic noticeboard content system; coordinate the content, design and distribution for Telfer’s quarterly newsletter; build Telfer `Yammer’ community; coordinate Monthly/Quarterly GM town hall meetings for all employees and contractors

Develop content and film videos for use across a wide range of electronics platforms

Liaise with site operations managers and SME, creating a bank of good news stories and employee profiles

Planning and supporting various project related communications

Supporting audits of current internal communications tools/platforms and recommend and implement improvement processes

Support with incident and crisis communications

Please note this is a 1 year Fixed term FIFO role out of Perth with the current roster is 8 on and 6 off.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, team oriented and enjoy continuous improvement and driving for results. You will also possess the following:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar communications role delivering internal content within a large organization

A relevant tertiary degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing

Ability to produce a range of high quality communications material (written, video, presentations) in a dynamic fast paced environment

Previous experience in the mining industry and FIFO is highly advantageous

Resilience and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders

A can do attitude and a willingness to learn and make the role your own
