We seek to recruit an experienced Oxygen Plant Foreman reporting directing to the Process Operations Superintendent. The Foreman is responsible for applying and monitoring systems for optimal operation of the oxygen plant to ensure continuity of supply to meet Anawe process requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor oxygen plant parameters for compressor efficiency, plant efficiency, plant purities and other measures.
Troubleshoot operating problems, diagnosis causes and identify solutions to ensure plant operation is maintained and provide recommendations for any process improvements.
Ensure personnel have completed CBTs in their area or are working towards completion of CBT in their area.
Maintain a Shift Production Log and ensure all the operation areas complete log and check sheets as required.
Ensure that Permit to work system has been implemented and fully understood by all Oxygen plant personnel.
Assist when required to carry out training and updating of permit to work / Isolations. This applies to all sections of the Processing Plant.
Ensure coordination with the Power Generation Personnel to ensure adequate power is available at all times and notification is received of any planned interruptions or supply risks.
Develop training and assessment modules for Oxygen Plant Process Technician competencies in liaison with the Process Training Specialist to ensure materials and methods are aligned with PJV standards.
Ensure discharge monitoring is completed to agreed standards and any non-compliance is reported and actioned.
To be suitable for this role, you will possess the following:
Minimum of 5 years’ process plant experience in gold processing. Hands on experience in Autoclave and oxygen plant operation, gold leaching CIP, flotation, milling and crushing for significant periods
Minimum 5 years’ Mechanical trades background experience
Certificate IV in Metalliferous Mining (Processing)
Certificate IV in Assessment and workplace training
The ability and willingness to train and develop national employees;
Proven experience in a supervisory role in relative technical area.
Certificate IV Training and Assessment (preferable).
Current Drivers Licence.
Your primary location will be the Porgera Mine Site. An on-travel allowance will be provided to candidates who reside outside of Cairns, Australia. Alternatively the Company will provide assistance as per BNL Relocation Policy to relocate the successful candidate to Cairns, Australia if the candidate holds a current visa to reside in Australia. The roster for this role is a fly in, fly out rotation on 16 days on, 12 days off.
The offer for this role is conditional upon the candidate successfully obtaining and retaining a visa that allows you to work in Papua New Guinea. All applicants must be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical screening and will need to obtain a National Police Clearance.
