About the Role
As our next Mining Engineer reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent and a valued member of the Technical Services team, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.
In this role, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
Developing and maintain mine design plans and production schedules to enable recovery of maximum coal resource in the most cost-efficient manner.
Work with key stakeholders on short term planning and operational issues
Work closely with the Technical Services Superintendent and offsite support to deliver the medium-term plan
Continue to develop strong working relationships with the operations team
Ensure the designs and strategies you provide meet the operational requirements of the client
Provide engineering and technical services to support the production activities whilst fostering innovative techniques.
Roster and Location:
5/2 Roster – Monday to Friday with monthly RDO’s
DIDO or FIFO role with flights provided from Brisbane
Full camp accommodation provided with permanent room
The Dawson Coal Mine is in the lower Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, about 140 kilometres southwest of Gladstone, just outside Moura.
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or Survey
Previous experience in a coal mining environment preferably in an open cut mining environment
Excellent planning, organising and influencing skills
Experience with Vulcan, Deswik or other mine design software
A commitment to the best practice of health, safety environment and community at all times.
