Reporting to the Development Manager, UGL’s Manufacturing & Maintenance division are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Mining to join the team based in either Brisbane or Mackay.
The role of the QLD Business Development Manager – Mining is to develop and grow UGL’s Mining clients within Queensland, specifically relating to heavy mobile equipment and component overhaul, and will lead all sales and BD activity in QLD for the given industry. The purpose of this position is to leverage off the existing component overhaul capability and product strategy that exists within UGL in NSW and WA for QLD based mining clients and introduce UGL’s OHV Unit Exchange (UTEX) program to the QLD market.
The role requires the identification and capture of new opportunities and acting as an internal client champion to ensure the successful delivery of contracts by UGL’s Operational sites.
Once the UTEX program is established, the role is responsible for expanding UGL’s market offering in the Mining market by identifying key opportunities for new solution development in the overhaul and servicing of Mining asset and their components.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Actively seek to secure new and repeat business by developing and maintaining strong relationships with UGL’s QLD based Mining clients including Glencore, BMA, Anglo American Australia, National Plant and Equipment and others.
Initiate the OHV UTEX program in QLD with the capture of initial sales and growth within 2020.
Act as the main conduit of communication between UGL and the above clients by networking at all levels of the organisations, being the voice of the client within UGL and coordinating internal efforts to achieve desired outcomes for UGL and the above listed clients.
Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of the client’s organisation, their strategic objectives and driving issues.
Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of competitor’s strengths and weaknesses that will maximise the chances of UGL being successful in tenders.
Define the sales forecast and financial forecast cycle for each of the above clients and develop strategic account plans for each client to achieve the forecast through innovative and value add solution development.
Review and monitor existing contracts in conjunction with the UGL Commercial site representative to ensure all commercial and contractual obligations are met.
Analyse the progress of the contract and work with operations to initiate corrective actions where required.
Produce reports as required by the Mining Manager.
Further develop the strategy for the QLD Mining Market based on local knowledge including gathered information on target market segments, the current competitive position including pricing, marketing and route to market.
Lead strategic tenders for the Business related to QLD Mining clients. deliverable.
Relevant Degree or equivalent years of experience gained.
Relevant experience maintenance and operations
Excellent communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
Proficient skills in: MS Word, Excel, Databases and Asset Information Tools
