Position Objective

We seek to appoint an experienced Technical Specialist - Mobile Maintenance (Truck Shop) responsible for the maintenance systems, plant equipment & statutory requirements. This positon will report directly to the Truck Shop Foreman.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assisting the Workshop Foreman and Shift Supervisor with the general operation of the Mobile Maintenance Section;
Understand and comply with the departments key performance indicators; 
Provide direction, on the job training and technical assistance for subordinates as required;
Ensure all work is carried out in a proper manner within government regulations and company policy;
Assist in the development and training of local and national employees.
Extensive knowledge in Caterpillar 3516A&B Engines 
Hands on role carrying out repairs on 789B&C,777B,D&F trucks
Shift work

To be suitable for this role, you will possess the following:

Recognised trade certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting;
Minimum five years’ experience in similar positions within mining and minerals processing 
Caterpillar experience on 789 B/C and 777 B/D/F Dump trucks;
Carry out assistance on complete engine rebuilds on Cat 3516A&B engines
Proven experience in a supervisory role in relative technical area. 
Certificate IV Training and Assessment (preferable).
The ability and willingness to train and develop national employees;
Must be able to provide a minimum of two certificates relevant to the role.
Current Drivers Licence.

Your primary location will be the Porgera Mine Site. An on-travel allowance will be provided to candidates who reside outside of Cairns, Australia. Alternatively the Company will provide assistance as per BNL Relocation Policy to relocate the successful candidate to Cairns, Australia if the candidate holds a current visa to reside in Australia. The roster for this role is a fly in, fly out rotation on 16 days on, 12 days off. 

The offer for this role is conditional upon the candidate successfully obtaining and retaining a visa that allows you to work in Papua New Guinea. All applicants must be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical screening and will need to obtain a National Police Clearance.
