The Hatch Mining Discipline is a global practice providing project expertise to Hatch's commodity-based business units and we are building! Our capability spans through the entire mining lifecycle that comprises scoping, conceptual design, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, mineral processing, economic analytical evaluations, geological mapping and project management.

We are currently seeking a number of roles based in our Brisbane office for anticipated projects coming up and would like to invite all expressions of interest for the following roles;

Geoscientist/Geometallurgist

Combined understanding of geology and metallurgy, or, more specifically, extractive metallurgy

Competency in defining ore characteristics in terms of texture, mineralogy, composition, physical properties, structure, spatial zonation, etc.

Experience in developing spatially or geologically based predictive model for mineral processing plants.

Strong background in geostatistics and unconventional resource modelling techniques.

Mining Engineer (Fragmentation)

Understanding of rock fragmentation techniques, previous experience in blast design and associated particle size distribution (design, modelling and validation)

Dual degree in Mining Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering is desired

Sorting Engineer

Familiar with fundamentals of Sensor Technologies used for ore characterization e.g. XRF, XRT, PGNAA, ….

Familiar with Design of Experiments, data collation and processing concepts

Dual degree in engineering and physics

Data Analytics (Graduate engineer)

Skilled in developing algorithms and scripts for data integration, processing and visualization

Dual/triple degrees in Engineering, Math and Physics

Familiar with data analytics tools and commercial software (not essential)

Minerals Processing

Graduate degree in minerals processing is desired.

Familiar with processing circuit design, optimisation simulations, and equipment selection

Mining Engineer (Economic Evaluation)

Familiar with mine optimization and long term mine planning, financial and technical modelling, mining cost modelling, block model optimization;

Dual degree in Mining Engineering and Finance/Commerce
