The Quality Manager (QA) will lead the Quality Assurance team in developing and maintaining systems while ensuring compliance of ISO 9001:2008 and project procedures. This position is based on site and works on a 14/7 roster, reporting to the Construction Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Develop reporting systems for the overall QA/QC systems on the project that meet the requirements of ONRSR.

Review and approve the contractor’s QA/QC systems and reporting system for the various contractor packages.

Review and approve FAT and SAT and overall commissioning and handover protocols

Report on the performance of the Quality System to the project Civil Package Manager and Head of Rail for review, and as a basis for improvement.

Receive the auditor’s reports and non-conformances, correcting any deficiencies and advising the Civil Package Manager of actions taken.

Report instances of non-conformance; assist with identifying corrective and preventative actions and management of the issue until resolved.

Participate in the analysis of quality data, determining trends and lessons learned for the improvement of the service.

Compilation of the handover and Operational Readiness systems.

Carry out all work activities upholding the Carmichael Rail Network’s values of teamwork, responsibility, agility, challenge & excellence.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes, and align with Adani’s values of courage trust and commitment to high standards.


A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar QA/QC Manager Role on project of $200M or more

An ability to liaise at all levels with the client and subcontractors

Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.

Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team

Demonstrated written communication and IT skills (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders

Experience and understanding of the audit process


Working knowledge of all aspects of railway construction, include earthworks, structures, track, signalling and communications.

Working knowledge in planning and development of materials sources for major infrastructure civil works in Queensland
