Responsibilities of the role include:
Lead a team of corporate based Senior Mining Engineers who provide support to operations and projects.
Ensure the WHC planning cycle operates in an accurate and timely fashion.
Interact with various stakeholders in order to ensure the quality, alignment and understanding of mine plans.
Provide planning support to studies and projects.
Develop and comply with planning standards and processes to deliver functional excellence within Technical Services.
Help develop JORC compliant Ore Reserve statements to meet internal and external standards, guidelines and codes.
Help develop and maintain cost models.
Help develop and maintain a production benchmarking database.
Provide mentoring to Technical Services across the group.
The successful applicant will most likely possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:
Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering with a minimum 10 years relevant industry experience.
Experience using mine planning software.
Experience in optimising coal schedules and mine economics.
Experience with major software packages such as Deswick, Spry, Vulcan or Minex.
Membership of an appropriate professional organisation.
