A new opportunity for a HD Fitter / Field Service Technician to assist our Newman branch is available. Reporting to the Newman Branch Manager, the objective of this position will be to work as part of a team carrying out all routine and breakdown maintenance at the Hope Downs 4 mine site; complying with all client and Komatsu OH&S policies and Golden Rules.
This role is offered on a (FIFO) Fly-in Fly-out of Perth to the Hope Downs 4 mine site in the Pilbara working day shift on an 8/6 roster.
Competent skill sets in machine diagnostics and repairs, Digger fleet WA 1200s, PC 4000’s PC 5500. (Experience working on at least 1 of the above machines is essential)
An appropriate level of technical understanding of the design & function of Komatsu equipment groups.
Ability to demonstrate competencies of testing and adjusting of machine operating and monitoring systems utilising relevant literature and testing equipment.
Ability to generate technical reports to a professional standard utilising Microsoft office programs.
Introductory level of Microsoft Windows XP, Word and Excel.
Ability to coordinate major site based equipment maintenance projects.
Demonstration of accurate time sheet inputs, plus punctuality at start, finish and break times.
Demonstration of accurate service reporting in an efficient manner including standard template.
Coordination of job packet requirements, and ability to follow required job scope & critical path.
Demonstrates responsibility in coordinating reporting such as TSI & warranty claim processes.
The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:
Qualified Heavy duty Mobile Plant mechanic with relevant recognised trade certificate.
Extensive experience in a field service capacity working on Komatsu mining equipment;
RTIO inducted would be advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a demonstrated commitment to safety.
Have the ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision at Hope Downs 4.
Good understanding of computer systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to provide a high level of customer service in line with our Customer Support Charter.
