The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Mine Foreman to assist the Underground Manager to oversee underground operations at Mt Morgans during the care and maintenance phase, and assist with recommencement of mining to achieve the forecast production targets in a safe and efficient manner.

This position is offered on an 8 days on; 6 days off Fly In Fly Out roster from Perth to Laverton.

The Mine Foreman is responsible for:

When acting as the appointed person, meet the requirements and obligations of Deputy Underground Manager in accordance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994, and Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995;

Ensure that a safe and healthy work environment is achieved in all underground mine areas through ensuring compliance to safety rules and regulations, and conducting regular inspections to identify, report and remediate any hazards;

Monitor all mine infrastructure to ensure the ongoing integrity of all mine areas through the care and maintenance period;

Provide adequate supervision of access to any underground workings;

Provide effective monitoring and management of air, water and waste disposal;

Ensure all services and infrastructures are maintained to maximise safety;

Provide operational leadership to achieve the recommencement of mine development and production.

To be considered, applicants will present the following skills and experience as a minimum:

Must hold a current Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency

Driver’s License (C Class, Manual Car), minimum;

Certificate: Provide First Aid, or equivalent

Full knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations

Previous experience as an Underground Mine Foreman

An ability to communicate clearly and interact with team members and contractors

Knowledge of MS Office software is desirable

Strong leadership skills

Excellent oral, written and numerical skills

Excellent record keeping and documentation skills

Ability to adapt to a changing environment
