About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Mining Engineer to be based at our Mackay Operations. This is a permanent role, working Monday to Friday. We are looking for someone with an impeccable work ethic who likes to learn, customer focused, seize opportunities and take responsibility for achieving excellence whilst working as part of an energized team.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Mining Engineer role are but not limited to;

Lead a team of production analysts and application specialists that work directly with clients on initiatives that improve overall equipment effectiveness

Utilising machine & client data within a digital ecosystem to monitor equipment performance and measure against benchmarks to highlight opportunities for improvement

Manage cost per tonne models for Caterpillar equipment and work with clients to validate and improve

Assess production, technical, financial and safety risks associated with client’s proposed developments and or existing operations

About You

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering - essential

Project Management Qualification – desirable

Membership of the Australian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (AusIMM) - desirable

Minimum five years’ experience post graduate experience as a Mining Engineer within the Mining / Quarrying Industry, either Open Cut or Hard Rock Underground Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to assess production, technical, financial & safety risks associated with customer’s proposed development and or operation

Possess a proactive and committed leadership approach to safety and a “flexible can-do attitude”

Actively seek formal and informal development opportunities for growth

Superior communication and customer service skills across all levels of business
