We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Mining Manager who is safety focused, enthusiastic and willing to work as part of a dynamic team. This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating all facets of the Mining Department to ensure all safety, technical, production and cost targets are met, whilst ensuring that all mining and planning activities support and are driven by the strategic goals and objectives of the Dargues Gold Mine.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Manage and oversee the mine development and production activities;
Monitor development, stoping and mining projects progress against monthly and three month rolling targets;
Oversee all mining activity related schedules in order to create accurate forecast and budget targets and monitor performance against these targets;
Ensure all statutory requirements are met as per the New South Wales legislation;
Ensure all reporting and actions in relation to safety and environmental incidents is completed within appropriate deadlines;
Maximise ore recovery and minimise dilution in stoping activities;
Provide input into technical activities including mine planning, projects, ventilation, survey and geotechnical requirements of the mine to ensure safe production;
Develop continuous improvement targets and measure achievement against these targets;
Provide input to mine technical studies covering the Life of Mine;
Focus on creating a culture of care by visible safety leadership, engagement, and development of your team;
Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance; and
The successful candidate must be prepared to make decisions, challenge the norm and contribute effectively in a lean team environment.
NSW Mining Engineering Manager’s Practicing Certificate of Underground Mines other than Coal Mines or ability to obtain mutual recognition for this qualification is essential;
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an underground mining environment with experience in medium scale mechanized, long hole sub level stoping;
Minimum of 2 years in a senior/supervisory operational role with proven experience in utilizing your Mining Engineering Manager’s Practicing Certificate or equivalent;
Recognised Tertiary Degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Mining), or equivalent;
Have a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice in New South Wales;
Extensive experience in providing leadership, managing training/development, career progression and performance management of personnel;
Strong technical background with experience in underground mine planning, ventilation, geotechnical, capital justifications and budgeting;
Demonstrate the ability to investigate, identify and problem solve effectively;
Demonstrate achievement in empowering teams to achieve excellence;
Possess a positive can-do attitude with the ability to adapt and promote change;
High level of communication skills and able to build relationships with all levels of the business internally and externally; and
Must be willing to relocate to the Braidwood/Majors Creek area.
