The key responsibilities of this role include:

The role of the Mechanical Supervisor (maintenance execution) is to provide leadership to a team of skilled maintenance technicians.

Key responsibilities include executing maintenance and shutdown plans for all fixed surface and underground mechanical equipment on site, core attributes of this role include;

Providing effective, directive leadership and supervision to a mechanical trade team

Conduct regular audits and inspections ensuring OZ Minerals’ compliance with applicable legislation and standards, reducing operational risk and exposure

Assist planning team to optimise planned maintenance and minimise the impact of unplanned maintenance.

Regular engagement with Senior Reliability Engineer to assist with asset optimisation and strategy delivery

Participate in shutdown preparation and post shutdown lessons learnt sessions

Ensure contractors working on site are compliant with site safety and equipment policies.

Managing aspects of the maintenance budget, specifically asset cost control and awareness

Create, review and audit standard maintenance procedures in conjunction with asset management team

Assist in providing improvement for systems and processes to maximise equipment reliability

Support in providing training systems for the trade group and associated service providers and contractors

Manage team competencies to ensure all critical and statutory training is current and up to date

Act as a subject matter technical expert to other groups to comply with mechanical standards and legislation

Applicant Requirements

This role requires a values based individual with a desire to deliver best practice outcomes with skills, experience, and personal attributes including:

Mechanical trade background within a heavy industrial, mining resources or minerals processing environment

Medium to large team supervisory experience

Safety orientated with sound OH&S knowledge

Proven experience assessing equipment failures

Achieve results in limited time frames (decision maker)

Industrial processing within a continuous operation

Experience using CMMS, eAM, ERP solutions

High level computer skills in Microsoft suite

Project and Time management focus

Gathers and exchanges information and ideas

Develop trust and confidence within a team environment

Builds and maintains networks and relationships

Manages difficulties to achieve positive outcomes

Mentors tradesmen to develop workgroup skillset

Facilitates change management opportunities

Equipment failure analysis and ‘Root Cause Analysis’

Development of technical documents

Exposure to equipment circuits and systems such as

Slurry and water pumping systems

Crushing, milling and conveying systems

Underground materials handling

Lubrication systems
