About the Role
This is a Monday to Friday role which provides automation and control support for continuous process improvement, and is the go-to person for providing the electrical team with day to day troubleshooting support. This role will also have the opportunity to be involved in the upgrade of the sites process control system to the next generation hardware project in the coming years.

Other key components of the role include:
Ensure systems and processes are in place to achieve and maintain safety
Provide process automation engineering design and support across functional units ensuring all applicable Australian standards and best practices in plant automation are implemented
Ensure adequate systems are in place for disaster recovery
Administer process control systems to ensure the systems are operating at their optimum levels
Develop and implement plant automation and control systems to improve plant reliability and cost-effective operations
Provide process automation design and implementation support for plant capital projects
Prioritise, monitor and review process control system change requests to achieve business outcomes and improve plant reliability
Provide support in managing the life cycle of plant automation and control systems
Identify and implement important opportunities for the improvement of plant reliability
To be considered for this role you will have automation and control experience within heavy industrial, manufacturing or mining environment, and have either a degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering or hold an Australian electrical licence.

Whilst not mandatory, experience and exposure to the following would be advantageous:
Experience in project management
PLC programming of ABB DCS, Siemens, Allen Bradley PLC's (Ladder, function block and structured text)
SCADA and HMI development (including Citect)
Sound knowledge in designing, developing and maintaining industrial networks, windows servers and VMware Esx Virtualisation
Maintaining Profibus, Profinet, Mobus, Modbus TCPIP, Serial Communications
Maintaining and developing OPC DA, A&E and HDA servers and clients
