Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Superintendent: Maintenance to join their Processing Maintenance Team at Agnew Gold Mine. 

Reporting to the Processing Manager, this role will manage the maintenance of fixed plant equipment in the Processing Operations, to enable achievement of budgeted production targets, meeting all quality standards including cost, safety, and environment.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days, 4 days on and 3 days off roster, or similar variant, Fly in Fly out from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:

Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times.

Advance departmental objectives through effective planning, management and monitoring of activities of maintenance personnel and contractors effectively promoting awareness ensuring full statutory compliance is achieved.

Manage and oversee the activities of maintenance personnel in carrying out work plans ensuring that their team’s activities are consistently aligned with meeting operational targets by conducting regular inspections and audits, specifically checking compliance of established standards and procedures in relation to safety & production issues.

Assist in the preparation and ongoing management of maintenance budgets and forecasts and provide the necessary training and exposure to direct reports so that they can assist in cost control.

Develop, implement and monitor adherence to appropriate new procedures, processes, and technology to ensure the safe and efficient operation of assets.

Implement and support plant reliability improvement processes such as asset management plans for key assets, promote effective Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and support of the Maintenance Management System (MMS).

Provide ongoing leadership and mentoring for direct reports through effective use of the Performance Management System to provide regular, constructive feedback on performance, improve individual development and capability and enhance employee engagement, productivity and job satisfaction.

Key factors to your success include;

Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline).

At least 10 years’ post-trade experience.

At least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership position in a mobile maintenance environment.

Project and Cost Management training would be advantageous to your application.

Economic management experience including formulation and adherence to approved budgets would be highly desirable.

Demonstrated leadership, performance development experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
