Business Need / Purpose of Role

Carry out the process optimisation function required in the brownfield project development team

Carry out site investigations, identify solutions & develop proposals

Increase the sales of O/E equipment into the brownfields space

Support and train the Area Manager network and increase the process engineering skill for the teams.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities

Visit and conduct audits for key customers, which would enhance their selection from the Weir product portfolio. The visitation program is to be developed in conjunction with the Commercial Managers and the Sales and Business Development personnel

Accomplish an increase in equipment sales to the region of responsibility (WA)

Project Management

Carry out JK Simmet and other Vendor Modelling tools

Create & deliver presentations to customers to propose process and operational improvements and optimization

Regular customer visits to interact with as many sits as possible during exploration phase to find opportunities

Work closely with the Sales and Business Development personnel in the region to conduct joint visits to customers, coach the team in securing new business, support the marketing communication strategy and in so doing lift the sales results

 Involvement in preparing presentations with key product experts, coordinating tenders for projects and building effective relationships and partnerships to grow the business.

Serve as a catalyst in identifying and improving product improvement programs. It will liaise with the Product Managers, both regionally and globally as well as the manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure that manufacturing specifications are exact to product requirements and improvement initiatives are planned and implemented.

Work in close partnership with Global and Regional Product Managers and commercial teams to deliver the product marketing strategies in the region

Job knowledge / Other requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Process Engineering/Mineral Science or equivalent

Operational exposure in tthe process plant environment

Previous experience in comminution and separation

Exposure to multiple mineral extraction methods will be highly sought after e.g. leaching, flotation and physical methods etc

Exposure to operational improvement and optimization

Demonstrable project management and change management skills and experience

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Ability to work with diverse group of professionals in close cooperation.
