Roy Hill is currently seeking a Superintendent Development to join the team on an 8:6 Roster FIFO Mine. Reporting to the Manager Mining, you will be responsible for leading a team of supervisors and ensuring the Development plan and mining operations are executed and production targets are met. This will be achieved by your team’s close collaboration between other mining teams, geology, and mine planning and demand chain planning teams.

Accountabilities include: 

Ability to lead, develop and mentor operators in development works, principles and techniques

Lead decision making on issues which may have an immediate operational effect or may influence long term mine production activities

Effectively supervise and resource all aspects of Rehabilition and development works and any associated works as required

Maintain and construct heavy haulage intersections inside active mining area

Provide visible safety leadership by modelling Lead, Care, Think, Perform to all staff

Conduct daily inspection of work areas to ensure compliance to relevant legislation

Work to continually improve performance and costs within the team by promoting and encouraging initiative and innovation

Identify, design and implement process improvement strategies to maximize operational performance

Assist in incident investigations and risk assessments as required

Ensure ongoing communication between mining teams, geology, and mine planning and demand chain planning teams to ensure the desired performance solution is utilised to full design capabilities

Ensure observations and measurements are recorded and reported accurately and in a timely manner

For you to achieve outstanding results in this position, your experience will include the following:

Demonstrated strong mining operation background including experience of successfully managing large operator crews

Ability to prioritise and manage a heavy workload to provide direction to the team

Effective communicator at all levels of the business

Experience working and mentoring mine operators
