Purpose

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Operational Technology Data Systems Specialist is responsible for the preventative & corrective maintenance, improvement and development work related to the Operational Technology (OT) data systems supporting the operations (i.e. industrial data networks, various OT physical & virtual servers / clients, operating systems, data historian application, etc.) for the entire NTO site

The role is based in Tanami and offers an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, Brisbane, Darwin & Alice Springs ONLY.

Some Key Accountabilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the OT data systems to ensure reliability

Develop and administer automated production reporting

Ensure relevant OT data systems software is upgraded and patched to ensure consistency and reliability

Development and implementation of proper processes and procedures related to the OT data systems

Manage the software license records & updates for the used OT software packages

Research, define, propose, justify and implement changes and improvements to the OT data systems assets to decrease costs and improve overall process performance   

Act as main reference point for network design & implementation, server & client’s architecture for the site OT data systems.

Skills & Experience

Demonstrable experience with industrial control networks and Cisco industrial switches/routers

Demonstrable experience with OsiSoft Pi & Pi AF historian

Significant exposure to VMWare virtual environments, MS Windows 2008 & 2012 servers, Active Directory implementations.

At least 5 - 7 years’ experience in a heavy industrial environment

Advanced PC skills and computer literacy

Demonstrated ability to work in a team

Exposure to Project Management methodologies

Strong analytical ability

Strong attention to detail
