About the Role

Orica is currently seeking interest for a Trainee Mobile Manufacturing Operator, residential in areas close to Deer Park, Victoria. 

Mobile Manufacturing Units are specialised heavy rigid vehicles that mix and deliver the blast product into pre-drilled blast holes on bench, at a mine site or quarry. Each MMU has a team of specialised operators that work together as part of a high performing team to safely load and deliver product.

The trainee will be trained to operate our Mobile Manufacturing Units (MMU's) based at our Deer Park site. This is initially a 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.

As a trainee, you will spend time to develop your skills and technical knowledge of our equipment and be trained how to operate safely and efficiently. This opportunity is a residential position based at Deer Park. 

Roster – Monday to Friday, 10-hour workdays.

What you will be doing

Training to operate our Mobile Manufacturing Units;

Assisting with preventative maintenance;

Assist with the delivery of explosive products down pre-drilled blast holes on bench;

Working in a team environment to meet customer expectations;

Adhering to our client’s site safety and other policies and procedures;

Acting with integrity and respect whilst always striving to excel in your duties.

What you bring

Mechanical aptitude with the capability, to safely and effectively operate relevant equipment;

Current Heavy Rigid (HR) Unrestricted drivers’ licence, essential;

Dangerous Goods Driver’s License or the ability to pass all security checks to obtain this licence;

Forklift Licence – desirable;

Dedication along with a can do attitude;
