In this role, you will:
Support the effective implementation of safety management systems, strategies and initiatives across Mt Pleasant to ensure all safety objectives and targets are met.
Provide operational safety guidance, diligence, consistency and discipline to operational leaders.
Provide strategic and operational advice to Mining Operations Managers to ensure adequate training and development is achieved in safety critical roles.
Actively support Project safety professionals through mentoring, facilitation and coaching.
Identify and initiate safety improvement initiatives and influence Business Unit and project ownership.
Degree Qualified in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (or working towards this and currently hold an Advanced Diploma in OH&S). Equivalent engineering or science, building construction management, health or other Degrees will also be considered if an Advanced Diploma in OH&S is held.
Safety Lead Auditor Qualification.
Lead ICAM Investigator Qualification.
Safety Practitioner experience in mining, construction and/or heavy industry, including high risk workplaces, engineering or other associated functional areas, plus experience in Management & Leadership roles
Exposure to Audit Management practices.
Exceptional skills in business level planning, development and review of safety management systems.
Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment skills, such as development and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in the delivery and implementation of projects.
Ability to transfer risk controls and assessment strategies across projects within the region.
Advanced skill in data gathering and statistical and trend analysis.
Comprehensive experience conducting and interpreting audits and reviews.
Skills in developing and reporting on performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.
Skills with training in high risk activities such as working at heights, confined space and rescue; as well as with facilitating group processes, e.g. Focus groups and workshops.
Ability to develop and manage stakeholder groups within the Region and Business units.
