The Water services department at Solomon are seeking a passionate and experienced Dewatering Operator on a 2:1 roster (days only). The dewatering team's responsibility is to ensure that the mine can operate below the water table and the processing plant has an uninterrupted water supply.
Reporting to the Dewatering Supervisor, your role will be to complete the daily maintenance and operational tasks as required. You will have a extensive knowledge of the water distribution system and its individual components and be able to work safely and unsupervised. This role will require you to diagnose simple pumping problems and communicate faults concisely to the relevant supervisor.
Key accountabilities will include:
Diagnose basic pumping problems within the system
Install and remove bore pumps as part of a team
Successfully isolate plant, machinery and pipelines
Collect data from the field and enter it into databases
Install and repair poly pipes using butt, electrofusion and extrusion welding methods
Complete daily compliance inspections and report faults to the supervisor
Install trailer and skid mounted pumps in the pit and on various ponds
Working proactively and efficiently in a team environment
Qualifications and skills required:
Strong experience operating machinery including I.T’s, wheel loaders, excavators, telehandlers, hiabs, trucks, chainsaws and various poly welding machines
Act as certificate holder for high risk work
Good understanding of pumping systems and poly piping systems
HR drivers license
HDPE butt welding, extrusion, electrofusion and chainsaw tickets and experience
High risk Licence - Crane vehicle loading (CV) and Dogging (DG)
