Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent and as a primary Deswick Planning Suite specialist in this team, you will be accountable to deliver study and mine plans derived from St Barbara’s strategic business planning. With the deepest trucking operation in the world, this role will give you fantastic exposure and genuine specialised career development opportunities at our world class operation.

Our Opportunity

Improving and maintaining a suite of fit-for-purpose systems to support studies, Medium Term and Life-of-Mine planning;

Coordinating the implementation of technical and operating improvement initiatives utilising the Company’s new “Building Brilliance” initiatives to maximize productivity, profitability and safety.

Responsible for timely, optimised and accurate studies and mine plans for the assets of the Leonora Operations including optimised mining methods, equipment, designs, schedules and financials;

Identifying and championing innovative ways to improve the value of the provincial assets of the Leonora operations; and

Ensuring timely and accurately reporting within the Technical Services Department, to the General Manager and other internal parties.

About You

Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values;

Current unencumbered West Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence;

Tertiary degree qualification in a mining discipline (Mining Engineering);

Advanced proficiency using the Deswick Planning Suite;

At least ten years’ experience in the mining industry predominantly from underground operations;

Highly motivated and driven to deliver quality outcomes;

Ability to lead team resources for the effective delivery of studies and Life-of-Mine plans; and

Strong technical communication and influencing skills.

Desirable

Significant experience in strategic mine planning;

Experience in Deswik.OPS, to facilitate best practise LTP into MTP

Experience preparing Ore Reserve estimates; and

Experience undertaking mining studies and project work. 

During site visits:

Short, one hour flight from Perth.
