The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Electrical Technical Service Representative, working predominantly on 4100 shovels, P&H loaders, Draglines and Komatsu products. This role will be part of the Technical Support team, providing service provision to customers in the Central Region to ensure optimum performance of equipment in terms of safety, productivity and reliability.

As a Technical Service Representative, you will be involved in service provision, customer relationship management, operational excellence and continuous improvement – the more you learn, the more we challenge you. An ability to work fluidly within a changing environment is a must.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

Act as the first point of contact for all technical and service information between the customer and Komatsu;

Provide application support and maintenance advice to the customer;

Ensure that work performed on Komatsu equipment on site is to Komatsu standard;

Update manuals and written procedures so as to comply with the equipment specifications and modifications;

Perform on-the-job training for the customer maintenance and operating personnel;

Assist customers in the identification, sourcing, and ordering of parts when required;

In conjunction with the customer, assist in the development and refinement of work scopes for scheduled maintenance and repairs;

Regularly conduct machine inspections on site;

Operate Komatsu product lines on site for the purposes of testing, relocating and maintaining

Maintain quality control standards in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Assurance Procedures

Management of service delivery against targets with a view to being recognized as ‘best in class’;

Maintain a close working relationship with the customer to ensure delivery against expectations;

At all times, comply with customer safety standards and Komatsu safety requirements

Skills Required:

Hold a recognized and current Electrical Trade or Engineering qualification;

Credible knowledge (through work experience and training) of P&H Shovels, Loaders and Draglines;

Previous experience in the mining industry or related heavy industry;

Demonstrated ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical and engineering drawings;

Demonstrated ability to self-manage and take responsibility in a remotely supervised role;

Demonstrated Customer management experience;

High level written and verbal communication skills;

Demonstrated problem solving ability;

Full understanding of Site Safety and Environment protocols
