We have an opportunity for a qualified and highly experienced Water Management Supervisor to lead the operational team on site.

Reporting to the Water Management Superintendent, the Supervisor leads a small team that is responsible for the operation, inspection and maintenance functions of various water assets across site. This includes various raw water supply infrastructure that feeds to the processing plant, infrastructure for surplus water management and quality separation, potable water and wastewater facilities, standpipes, dams and various pit dewatering infrastructure.

This role will be located on our Karara Mine Site on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster (Wednesday to Wednesday).

Key responsibilities;

Supervise and support the efficient installation, operation and maintenance of Karara’s various water infrastructure including, but not limited to pumps, standpipes, tanks, HDPE pipelines, flowmeters, valves and other fittings, using machinery such as integrated tool carriers, chainsaws, skid steers, vehicle cranes, polywelding machines and heavy-rigid transportation vehicles;

Engage with contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure operations are aligned to Karara’s financial and operational goals

Engage with Karara’s Mining, Processing and Maintenance departments to ensure:

Dry-pit mining conditions are maintained

Capital water infrastructure is constructed and in a timely and effective manner

Water supply to the plant is maintained to support continuous operation with no impact on operations

Identify and ensure training requirements are met within team to achieve business and team outcomes

Perform root cause analysis of operational issues as they arise

Perform other ad-hoc duties as required

Experience;

Day to day work scope delegation for small team of technicians and contractors where required

Lead and mentor direct reports in all water management activities

Act as first point of escalation for any issues raised by direct reports

Demonstrated experience in a senior water management position in a mining or other heavy industry

Experience in the operation and maintenance of water supply systems, including potable water and wastewater facilities

Experience in water quality testing monitoring and reporting, and the proven ability to promptly diagnose and rectify abnormalities

Ability to interpret pump and system curves to diagnose problems with pumps and pipe infrastructure

Strong supervision and contractor management experience

Cert IV Leadership and Management

Licence - CV: High Risk - Vehicle Crane

Licence - DG: High Risk – Dogging

Licence - HR: Drivers – HR Class

Licence - High Risk – Forklift

National Ticket – Chainsaw Operation

National Ticket – Skid Steer

Qualification – Butt and Electrofusion Poly Welding

Competency – Recreational Skippers Ticket

Current immunisations for Hepatitis A and Tetanus

Section 44 Appointed Person

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

Knowledge & Experience

Demonstrated experience in a senior water management position in a mining or other heavy industry

Experience in the operation and maintenance of water supply systems, including potable water and wastewater facilities

Experience in water quality testing monitoring and reporting, and the proven ability to promptly diagnose and rectify abnormalities

Ability to interpret pump and system curves to diagnose problems with pumps and pipe infrastructure

Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite

Strong supervision experience leading a medium to large team
