Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM) is currently seeking a Rehabilitation and Closure Works Supervisor to join the Services team in Kalgoorlie. KCGM is a joint venture between Newmont Goldcorp and Barrick Gold Corporation.

Working 10 hour days, this residential 5:2 role will be responsible for efficiently directing and monitoring all rehabilitation projects, including business partner load and haul teams, to ensure that targets are achieved in a timely and safe manner within the guidelines of statutory requirements and KCGM standards.

Key Accountabilities may include, but are not limited to:

Lead safety performance of KCGM and contractor teams under supervision

Deliver on weekly and monthly plan, to meet project targets

Create a culture of trust, accountability and continuous improvement and one that overall reflects KCGM’s values with both the KCGM team and contractor teams

Maintain all required safety processes and paperwork, including JHAs and Procedures, ensuring they are effectively maintained and implemented to ensure team safety and meet KCGM standards and expectations.

Monitor the work area for productivity and safety throughout the work day

Provide daily reports on production performance and significant issues to the Closure Specialist / Closure Engineer to ensure appropriate communication

Ensuring daily reporting of significant changes to any process or activity in project activities and of any issues from other areas that may affect productivity or safety.

Mentor, coach and supervise the team to deliver all deliverables, and ensure the alignment with the KCGM’s values.

Manage team effectiveness - interpersonal dynamics within team, and ensuring team interacts effectively with other teams and business partners

Monitor leave taken by the team and manage requests in accordance with the direction set by the Closure Specialist / Closure Engineer

Manage performance needs of team, ensuring performance management, identification of developmental and training opportunities and conducting of performance reviews in alignment with KCGM’s values.

Coordinate casual / additional shift planning / coordinate and monitor the workplace rehabilitation of any injured employee, ensure all reasonable steps are taken to assist in identifying and providing an injured employee with suitable duties whilst they are on a return to work plan.

Participating in safety investigations where required and ensuring that follow up corrective actions are completed and closed out in a timely manner to ensure the Occupational Health and Safety Act and KCGM safety standards are complied with at all times.

Provide emergency response support to incidents when required and conduct Safety Interactions

Deliver on all rehabilitation QA/QC and hold points requirements

Monitor environmental procedures and requirements, to minimise the risk associated with the working environment of the relevant closure work area (TSFs, WRFs, or other) to employees and contractors and to comply with statutory obligations.



Ideally a minimum of five (5) years’ experience, including operation of machinery, in an open pit mining or quarry or civil production environment, with a sound understanding of heavy equipment.

Section 44 training and appointment.

Strong understanding of mining sequence process and activities.

Experience in performance management of team members enhancing team self-esteem with the ability to coach, mentor and influence others.

Intermediate computer literacy with ability to use integrated management systems, spreadsheet applications and word processing software.

Ability to think strategically and commercially, approach solutions creatively and consider organisation-wide impacts.

Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers License

Must reside in the Goldfields region.

National Police Clearance, no older than twelve (12) months.
