About the Role:

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Scheduler – Underground Coal for the Mackay branch is now available.

Reporting to the Planning Supervisor – Underground Coal, This role primarily exists to effectively schedule and coordinate all overhaul and repair activities in the Underground Coal workshop, to understand all work requirements, and successfully decide on the provision of resources necessary to complete all work efficiently and to a high quality standard.

In this exciting and rewarding role, your responsibilities will include:

Establish and maintain employee roster

Review weekly workload against available resources to identify conflicts and additional capacity windows

Review weekly the capacity plan with key stakeholders to compare confirmed scheduled and forecasted works against labour and facility availability

Maintain capacity plan to demonstrate a 12 month overview of pending works

Identify those Jobs that have been fully planned and available for scheduling

Prepare a weekly draft schedule and conduct a preliminary review to ensure it is accurate and complete

Liaise with Workshop Execution Supervisor on progress of jobs verse the current schedule and reschedule tasks / jobs where appropriate

Coordinate a weekly meeting to review the draft schedule with the Planner and Workshop Leaders.

Weekly task to present the draft schedule to the Workshop Execution Supervisor for sign off

Weekly communicate the final schedule to the Facilities Leadership Team

Prepare and distribute hard and electronic copies of the schedule to the Workshop Leadership as required, along with Project Managers

Weekly preparation and distribution of schedule compliance reports

Provide training support and mentoring of new team members and others as required

About You 

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

Trade qualification in a Mechanical/Electrical trade desirable

Formal Project Management qualification or certification desirable

Thorough knowledge of Equipment Assembly process including an understanding of time and motion issues at floor level

3 to 5 years experience in a Front Line Service Department role

Previous experience providing project planning and scheduling; working with project management reporting tools and systems

Intermediate knowledge of computer systems and programs including Microsoft Project and Excel

Demonstrated systems experience in AX Dynamics, Power BI and Saleslink, Mainstay and or similar labour allocation systems.

Positive attitude to developing the business through a team approach

A proficient and motivated work ethic

Well-developed communication skills
