ABOUT THE ROLE

Atlas Iron actively seeks an experienced Procurement Specialist to join the Contracts and Procurement Team on a full-time 12 month fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Senior Contracts and Procurement Officer, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ensuring a high level of procurement support is provided to the business through the effective sourcing and procuring of goods and services and administration of associated contracts and agreements, in accordance with Atlas Iron frameworks. The role will also assist in the testing, development of procedures and training of the upgraded P2P system.

More specifically, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Managing all day to day procurement of goods and services via the ERP system.

Issue quotations for procurement of goods and services and ensure that appropriate recommendations are made to deliver value for money whilst complying with internal protocols.

Place Purchase Orders for goods and services and ensure on time delivery in accordance with agreed specifications or scope of works.

Arrange freight for goods to the Pilbara region including hotshots and airfreight (where required).

Investigate, resolve and close out mismatches between invoice and purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner

Catalogue material items and link to contracts in the ERP system to maximise cost savings and procurement efficiencies. Maintain the catalogue.

Assist the Senior Contracts & Procurement Officer with the following tasks (where required): preparation and evaluation of tenders, negotiations with tenderers, writing internal recommendations and approval documents, preparation of contract documentation, issue notices of contract award or unsuccessful bidder notices, as well as general commercial administration, contract management and close out of contracts.

Ensure the vehicle fleet is actively managed and optimised throughout the business.

Monitor, actively manage, and reconcile the procurement of fuel for Atlas Iron sites and nominated contractors.

Coordinate any asset disposals to ensure maximum value is extracted for each item in accordance with Atlas Iron Policy.

Administer and provide guidance in the use of the ERP system as it relates to the procure-to-pay modules, identifying ways to continuously improve the ERP system and processes including mapping and documenting changes.

Manage, administer and develop the Vendor Prequalification process and ensure an up to date audit trail is kept for all vendors engaged by Atlas Iron.

Actively monitor procurement and vendor performance to ensure agreed KPI’s are met and continuously improved upon.

Ensure compliance to the Atlas’ Contracts & Procurement Management System (CPMS).

Provide training and guidance to end users in the use of the ERP system and actively participate in Procurement improvement projects.

ABOUT YOU

As an experienced Procurement Specialist, you will have a strong eye for detail and possess a high level of accuracy. You will be a proactive and deadline focused individual with a self-starter approach. You will have extensive experience in influencing, negotiating and effective communication, with the ability to engage, develop relationships and drive favourable outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.

Additionally, experience in the following areas is essential:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement of goods and services supported by some non-complex contract development and administration, with exposure to the resource industry.

Advanced ERP Procure-to-Pay competency (preferably SAP).

Advanced MS Office Suite skills and practical experience in effectively utilising these.

Demonstrated strong analytical and effective procedure writing skills.

Desirable:

Facilitation of training to end users on the Procure to Pay process and relevant ERP transactions.

An academic qualification in contracts and procurement, commercial, legal, supply chain management, business or related discipline.
