The Gruyere gold deposit in Western Australia is one of Australia’s most exciting new gold projects. Gold Road Resources and Gold Fields are proud to have an established 50/50 JV partnership over Gruyere. With Gold Fields as the JV manager, the team at Gruyere have hit the ground running and are working hard to achieve first gold production in 2019.
Reporting to the Mineral Resources Manager you will be responsible for providing quality mine geology services and working collaboratively with the broader mining team to maximise return from the operation.
This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth. Flexibility around this roster will be required, details of which will be discussed with applicants who progress to the interview stage.
Key responsibilities will include:
Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviors are adhered to at all times.
Document the controls of mineralisation in mapping, reports and presentations to build a bank of quality historical data and knowledge for current and future reference.
Contribute to geological interpretation, grade control models, resource models and reports to ensure accuracy of interpretation and the ability to deliver on expected outcomes/strategic objectives.
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of reconciliation systems (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) for managing grade control to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
Contribute to the definition, implementation and monitoring of short, medium and long-term mines based grade control and exploration drilling programs to extend the Life of Mine (LOM) and increase reserves and resources.
Utilise site systems and QA/QC protocols to ensure the quality and integrity of data.
Contribute to the effective management of department costs by consistently considering the financial impacts.
Key factors to your success include:
Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology.
C class WA driver's license.
A minimum of 3 years mining industry experience – preferably in an Open Pit Gold operation including – exposure to mine geology, resource and grade control estimation and extensional exploration.
Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Datamine geological modelling software package.
Experience in Mine to Mill Ore Tracking systems.
Excellent communication skills.
