About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Mechanical Fitter to work within the Refinery Maintenance department at our Olympic Dam asset. Duties will be, but not limited to performing planned, unplanned and or breakdown maintenance activities in the Electro Refinery, Electro winning Refinery and the Gold Room on the surface operations. This role will be an ongoing permanent role for the right candidate either residential or FIFO.

Reporting to the Refinery Maintenance Execution Supervisor you will:

Ensure that you are willing to be part of a fast paced environment

Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day

Provide technical expertise within the team to facilitate planned, unplanned and or breakdown and preventative shut down maintenance

Develop close working relationships with production personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and remedied promptly

Help enhance a positive and high performing culture

Provide continual feedback to maintenance management on job/task progress

About you

Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way

Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and functions

Trade qualified in Mechanical Engineering

Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding

Previous experience working within an operational mining environment or something similar essential

Ability to work autonomously with limited direction, within a team environment

Ability to operate across multiple work-fronts ensuring you maintain a clean and tidy workplace

Good sound computer skills as well as experience in SAP, but not essential
