We are currently seeking Senior Mining Engineer - Drill and Blast to join our operations. Reporting to the Short-Term Planning Superintendent, this role is responsible for manage Drill and Blast Engineering team to conduct drill and blast design and scheduling activities that ensure Mining Operations has continual steady activity and blasted stocks to provide sufficient blending options

Key Accountabilities:

Recruitment, development and performance management of Drill and Blast Engineers

Provide inputs for Blastmasters

Prepare 2 year and 3 month Drill and Blast Schedules

Ensure development of weekly Drill and Blast schedule and timely drill area preparation

Supervise drill and blast design process effectively to achieve optimal fragmentation & drill productivity

Co-ordinate weekly drill and blast review process

Provide input to Drill and Blast budget

Provide decision-making support to Mining Operations field supervisors with respect to drill and blast activities

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or equivalent

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent Drill & Blast engineering and mining operational knowledge

Robust scheduling and design software skills

Extensive Drill & Blast software exposure

Experience in Drill & Blast optimisation projects

Skills in blast design, field safety leadership and blast efficiency are required, operations scheduling experience would be advantageous

Strong analytical skills
