Mining Giant's Bid For BGC Contracting Drawing Buckeridge Legacy To A Close

Western Australia-based mining giant NRW will purchase construction company BGC's contracting arm for $117 million in its third major acquisition play in as many years.

BGC Contracting was put on the market last year by the company's family shareholders who decided to split BGC up after legal proceedings between the heirs of founder Len Buckeridge's $2.5 billion estate.

The mining and contracting services company is holding its hat out to institutional investors to pay for the purchase, with a placement worth $120 million at $2.65 a share.
