WA Lithium A Prime Example For Sustainable Australian Cities: Report

Western Australia’s transition towards lithium mining has been praised as a case study in a new report on how Australian cities can achieve economic sustainability.

The Sustainable Cities and Regions report, launched in Perth on Wednesday, is a 10-year plan to address urban problems including transport congestion, inflated housing markets, the loneliness crisis, inequity in opportunities and biodiversity loss.

The report by Future Earth Australia found Australia needed a national vision to achieve sustainable development and said WA’s cooperative approach towards its lithium industry was a good example.
