NRW Holdings has been selected by Fortescue Metals Group as its preferred contractor for the Eliwana rail project in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
The contractor would be responsible for delivering stage one earthworks, roadworks and drainage works at Eliwana, with a contract value of around $57 million. NRW would use its existing civil construction fleet for the project.
Fortescue approved the $US1.275 billion ($1.69 billion) Eliwana project during the 2018 financial year.
The project involves the development of 143 kilometres of rail and a new 30 million tonnes per year dry ore processing facility.
